A Tangle of Knots by Lisa Graff

Title:  A Tangle of Knots

Author: Lisa Graff

Released: February 5th 2013

Published by: Philomel Books

Pages: 233 Pages

Synopsis: In a remarkable world where many people are blessed with a special Talent, eleven-years-old Cady is an orphan with a phenomenal ability for cake baking....and no idea of the journey that Fate set in place for her the moment she was born.
But when Cady moves into an upstairs room in the town's Lost Luggage Emporium, she meets a curious cast of characters whose lives are tangled with her own in ways she never could have imagined. There's the ragtag group of siblings struggling to grow beyond their Talents, the woman without any words, and the devious thief on a single-minded mission. And the one thing that ties them all together just might be inside a single powder-blue suitcase.

In a story that falls into place like a magnificent puzzle, these encounters hold the key to unraveling the mystery of Cady's past.

Review: This charming middle grade book is told in multiple viewpoints. The characters in this story are not just mysterious but also fun.

The book is filled with several different characters with their own puzzles and Talents and storylines that seem to be completely seperate until they all come together rather neatly in the end.

This was a truly enjoyable read. It was quite slow, but so adorable and charming to read. As an extra, the author added cake recipes at the beginning of every chapter, which is just oh so sweet.

Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys

Eleanor and Park

Title:        Eleanor and Park

Author:    Rainbow Rowell

Released: February 26th, 2013

Published by: St. Martin's Griffin

Pages: 325 Pages (without acknowledgments)

SynopsisTwo Misfits
                  One extraordinary love.

Eleanor: Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough..........Eleanor.

Park: He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises.......Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds-smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Review: From the very first page, this book grabs you, and pulls you into the story without you even realizing what's going on.
I was absorbed by this story.
The writing was wonderful and enchanting. It was an easy read, but in a good way. It was sarcastic, smart, and just so adorable. I loved how their relationship started out slowly, and developed from there.
I think, the first word that comes up to mind when thinking of this book, is: REAL.
The characters felt real to me. Eleanor wasn't like one of those super smart, funny, sarcastic and still thin characters, that you sometimes read in YA romance novels. She was flawed, and most of the time, she wasn't very hopeful. But the thing is, a person with her past and in the situation she was at, just acts the way she does. How can someone be hopeful, if nobody ever showed her that there is actually hope?
Park in the other hand was very hopeful. He always believed in the good, because he saw the good. Park comes from a loving family, and doesn't have to worry about money. He was just so adorable.
And both characters, concidering where they came from, both acted realistic to me. They felt human.

I thought, this book was art. It was made, to make you feel something. It's one of those books, I imagine people want to write. A book that makes you laugh and happy, and then it breaks your heart and laugh again.

I really recommend this book to everyone who read "Why We Broke Up" by Daniel Handler. I think, if you liked that books, you'll like Eleanor and Park, too.

Begin again...

Hello Blogger World!

So, I've been gone for a while. Life kind of got in the way a lot. Things happened, so I kind of couldn't make time to write, but here I am again.

So let's start anew.

This blog will still be about books. But not just that, so sorry if there will be some posts that aren't book-related. This blog will be about everything that makes me happy and are interesting for me.

Mostly it will be about books, though.

So yeah, stay tuned, because things are changing.
